Shampoos like any other product, when used for a long time can result in the saturation of hair towards its effect
. The hair stops responding to further use of the shampoo. That means the hair has reached a balance level from which it cannot improve further. At this stage the hair will look beautiful and cleaner. This may be due to the fact that the hair has reached the level of alkalinity of the shampoo. At this stage the use of a different shampoo having a different quantity of alkalinity is found useful.
When a shampoo having a different alkalinity level is used, the hair starts responding to it. You might feel that the new shampoo works better than the old one. This process continues until the hair reaches a certain saturation level. Once you feel that you no longer get the benefits of the shampoo, think about changing it. So what you have to keep in mind is to change your shampoo occasionally, once your hair reaches a tolerance level to the current product.
It does not mean that you should never use your old shampoo again. You can use it after a desired time interval. Or you can return back to your favorite shampoo whenever you desire to.
Most of the people do not know the difference between a normal shampoo and a clarifying shampoo. They often get confused when choosing between these two. A clarifying shampoo is used to clean your hair from dirt and oil content that sticks in to your hair and are difficult to remove using a normal shampoo. People who use hair products like styling gels, mousse, serums etc need to use clarifying shampoo. Hair styling gels like hard set, super strong hold etc use high composition chemicals that sticks on to the hair altering its physical nature. These products tend to stick on to the hair even though washed properly. Hence in these cases you need to use a clarifying shampoo.
A clarifying shampoo has got a much more level of alkalinity in them than normal shampoo. Hence they have got better cleansing properties. A clarifying shampoo can be used when you find that the use of normal shampoo is not beneficial.
