Skoda Octavia

This four door five seater luxury sedan is at par with global standards and delivers good performance under any circumstances. Skoda Octavia is available in both petrol and diesel engines in three models: Octavia Ambiente Turbo, Octavia Ambiente and Octavia Elegance with a turbocharged 5 speed manual transmission engine with in-line liquid cooling system. The 1.9L I4 Turbo diesel 4-cylinder engine with 1896cc displacement produces 66 bhp power and 21kgm torque while the 1.8L I4 MPI 4-cylinder petrol engine with 1781cc displacement produces 110 bhp power and 21 kgm torque. The car falls in the Rs 10,35,917 Rs 13,10,121 price range (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Skoda Octavia is a safe and luxurious car as it comes with dual front airbags with front seatbelt pre-tensioners, ABS (anti-lock braking system), electric sunroof, leather upholstery and climatronic-automatic. The exterior designing is simple but elegant adorned by alloy wheels and chrome surround for its radiator grille. The interior have leather upholstery, dual tone onyx beige interior, wood design interior decor and chrome interior door handles and gear selector knob. Octavia has one of the biggest boots in its class with a storage capacity of 528 liters. The petrol version gives a mileage of about 8.2kmpl inside a city and 12.8kmpl on a highway as compared to the diesel version's 13kmpl inside a city and 18.7kmpl on a highway.


Chevrolet Cruze

The car is developed by global designers and engineers of General Motors and it is now manufactured at multiple locations around the world. Cruze is a global product from the General Motor's stable, which recently launched the Chevrolet Cruze Automatic as well. The car is available in three versions: Chevrolet Cruze LT, Chevrolet Cruze LTZ and Chevrolet Cruze AT. Chevrolet Cruze is powered by a 2.0L, 1991cc, 4-cylinder, in-line VCDi diesel engine with 5-Speed manual transmission gearbox capable of producing 150bhp power at 4000rpm with maximum torque of 320Nm at 2000rpm. The car is priced between Rs 10,98,982 Rs 13,45,000 and the automatic variant costs about Rs 84,000 more (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Chevrolet Cruze has a stylish front grille and appears very muscular. Chevrolet Cruze's body colored bumpers, front fog lamps, body colored door handles, body colored outside rear view mirror, 17 inch alloy wheels and stylish rear combination lamps make up for its external appearance. The interiors have a dual tone beige dashboard, leather covered upholstery, leather steering wheel, leather gear knob, leather seats, aluminum-effect trim inserts on doors and centre console. Chevrolet Cruze offers a mileage of around 14kmpl in a city and 18.3kmpl on a highway. The automatic Cruze's mileage is 1kmpl less than the manual-transmission version of the car.


Honda Civic

After Honda City this is the most popular Honda car on Indian roads. The Honda Civic had launched a hybrid version but that did not work out due to the hefty price tag attached to it Honda Civic is powered by a i-VTEC, 1.8L, 4-Cylinder, in-line, 16 valves, petrol engine with 1,799 cc displacement, 132 PS maximum power at 6,300 rpm and 17.5 Kg-m torque at 4,300 rpm. Honda Civic comes in three variants Honda Civic 1.8 S MT, Honda Civic 1.8 V MT and Honda Civic 1.8 V AT. The car has been priced between Rs 12,07,000 Rs 14,13,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

All trims of the Honda Civic come with extensive safety features such as anti-lock brakes, front-seat side airbags and full-length side-curtain airbags. The Honda Civic has a very classy exterior appearance and elegant interiors. Those accustomed to the Honda Civic conservative tradition will be surprised to find a dramatic-looking interior. The new two-tier dashboard layout, leather seats, front fog lamps and turn indicators integrated into outside rear-view mirrors give the car a very gorgeous look and feel. The manual version of the car gives a mileage of about 10.8kmpl in a city and 15.5 on the highway. While the automatic gives a mileage of about 8.9kmpl in the city and 13.1 on a highway.
