Comparing The Advanced Features Of The Samsung Galaxy S3 And Htc One X

The Samsung Galaxy S3 was released last week, putting to rest a number of rumours regarding its spec list

. As Samsungs latest Android flagship, it is directly competing with those of other manufacturers. In this article I will compare some key features of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X.

Both of these handsets sit at the top of the premium smartphone market, and are the high end offerings of the popular manufacturers. Before I look at their differences, I will first discuss what the handsets have in common. The operating system of course is the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, as both these phones are the flagship Android devices of their respective manufacturers. In terms of processing power, they are both their respective manufacturers first attempt at quad-core powered devices. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 1.4 GHz quad-core offering, whereas the HTC One X comes out slightly ahead on paper, with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz.

Although these handsets have the same Android platform, they also run their manufacturer specific Android interfaces, which are also found on a number of other devices. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has the TouchWiz UI, which was also found on its highly popular predecessor, the Galaxy S2. The HTC One X has the HTC Sense UI in its latest version, and is well known for its ability to increase the functionality and level of customisation of the default Android interface.

Of course both phones are highly capable camera phones. The both have 8 megapixel cameras which are among the most advanced on any phone available. Although 8 megapixel cameras have been available for some time, they do not get more advanced than those of the Galaxy S3 and One X. Both have a number of innovative features which set them apart from the competition. Both have the ability to take multiple shots when you touch the capture button, so you can choose the best one to keep. Also, sweep panorama shots are included, and the ability to simultaneously capture both still images and video footage. Video footage is in 1080p as you may expect from a high end smartphone.

Each phone also has its own attributes which are not found on the other. For example, music lovers and those who regularly use their phone as a music player will appreciate the Beats Audio of the HTC One X. If you are a fan of Siri on the iPhone 4S but prefer Android as an operating system, you will appreciate the S-Voice feature of the Galaxy S3 which operates in a similar way to Siri.

Both these phones sit at the top of the market, and provide everything you could want from a smartphone. The HTC One X is available now, and you can pre-order the Galaxy S3 on several UK networks which will be releasing it shortly.
