What is the cause of an increase/decrease in the female libido after miscarriage

? Little research is available to validate changes in female libido verhogen (libido increase) or decrease after the loss of a child. There are a lot of factors which make a decreased urge to have sex after a miscarriage, quite normal and common for women. The depression and grief, which follow after the loss, are easily the two most contributing factors which make a woman lose interest in intercourse. Fear of losing the subsequent conception is also an issue. This causes somewhat of a stress in the couples marital life. Doctors have also found that there are drastic hormonal changes after a woman loses her baby to a miscarriage. This can also explain the decrease in libido. The drastic changes occur when women zwanger worden (conceive) and attain pregnancy, the hormones change again dramatically after the miscarriage triggering a sense of depression and hopelessness. However, just as a miscarriage can cause decreased libido, some cases are also known of women having an increased libido after the tragedy as if the body is urging the person for another try. Hormonal changes can be attributed to this increase. However other factors like the amount of the gestation time, understanding in the relationship of the couple and the desire to have another child also play a significant role.

Miscarriage at a certain time of pregnancy plays an important role. If a woman loses a child early she is less affected by a woman who loses hers at an advanced stage or in a near birth situation. For one thing, the physical alterations brought about by the pregnancy take longer to dissipate after losing a child. The physical characteristics act as reminders of the pregnancy and have a major psychological effect. However, in the early stages, where these changes are not so pronounced or well defined, may not affect the sex drive.

A miscarriage can also put a certain amount of strain on the relationship of the couple. Partners may find an increase in their libido as if trying to correct the wrong created by the loss and bond more intimately. The reverse may also happen. Thus the other partner should be supportive and caring in such situations and concentrate on trying to help his partner trying to conceive.

So, for women, theres still hope. Do not give up after a miscarriage. Sure the loss maybe overwhelming but it is not permanent. Keep trying and you will see the smile of your baby soon.
