Social shyness affects almost everyone, meeting new people and getting to know them can be daunting, usually when you first meet someone there is a period where you are a bit more self aware, and things can be awkward, until you get to know each other and establish a certain comfort level .

Depending on what level of confidence and social skills you have, will determine how you handle situations. Men especially tend to be shyer when they are meeting women, and even more so if the women in question are attractive. Meeting women is nerve racking enough for most men, and for shy guys, it is ten times harder! (I know that was me up until recently) but there is hope for you yet, as shyness is only a behaviour trait and it can be changed.

You may have labelled yourself a shy guy and people also may have you labelled, but that does not mean that you have to continue this way, and accept this as an unchangeable trait of which you have been afflicted. Shyness is merely a behaviour you have learned, a part of your personality, which you perceive as your identity.

First you have to realise the problem, and work on ways to improve you level of confidence in all area's not just with women. It all starts with becoming more self aware, and slowly pushing your confidence little by little, exposing yourself to more situations where your social shyness affects you most. When you put yourself in situations that you would usually find uncomfortable, and situations you would usually avoid e.g.: if you are shy or more introverted this would probably be at parties or when talking to large groups of people. You have to accept that you have this behaviour for now, and also realise that you are going to have to push your comfort zone a little each day to finally break old habits, and to set new ones in motion.

If you are struggling to get a women in your life and you are a shy guy there are a few reasons as to why this could be happening. There are a lot of women, who are attracted to the shy type, but more seem to go for the bad boy and there are many reasons for this. The bad boy has a lot of very masculine traits that women find attractive. Bad boys don't really care what people think of them, which displays to a woman that he is strongly independent. They generally like to take risks which can be very exciting for a women and it by taking these risks it shows a high level of confidence which women are attracted to as we well know. Now I am not saying that you have to become a bad boy to attract women, but you may have to change certain behaviours that you currently have that are not getting you the results you deserve. You do not have to change who you are to do this, only adopt different beliefs about how you view yourself and how you view your relationships with women.
