Before booking your accommodations in Niagara Falls have you considered your areas of interest or are you booking based on style of hotel and price. If that is the case, you may be in for a bit of a surprise. Each tourism area in the Niagara Region may cater to different types of tourists. In other words, some areas are much more suited to specific needs whether youre looking for a wine experience, romance, family, or 5 star old world charm. Believe it or not, these areas will differ dramatically and not being in the right location can add to wasted time, lots of walking, or just more hassle. My goal is to help you determine the best area to stay in order to maximize your retreat. Know your Key Areas Niagara Falls: Niagara Falls is a Mecca of tourism. Most people who come to the Niagara Region come to see the main attraction Niagara Falls. While the falls district is well suited for a variety of interests, there are some areas that are better suited to specific needs. Two of the most popular areas would be the Skyline, and Clifton Hill.

The Skyline is comprised of many large fancy hotels including the new mammoth addition of the Niagara Fallsview Casino & Resort. These larger hotels are generally 4 or 5 star hotels that give fantastic views of the falls. The area is littered with expensive dining options and shopping. If youre looking for a romantic retreat, honeymoon, or couples getaway I would highly recommend this area. There are also other hotels like Holiday Inn, and Radisson Hotel which is perfectly suited to bringing the family, but all the shopping and attractions are more geared for the adult getaway which may leave the kids itching for activity. Clifton Hill is referred to as the entertainment & dining district. If you have children you will find an outrageous amount of attractions and activities for them. The Fallsview Waterpark is located just off the main drag and 4 hotels connect directly to it via indoor walkways. From the giant arcade style Midway, to 4d Moving Theatres, and the Hershey Factory, youll find a heap of things the kids will go crazy over. Also everything FUN is within a walking distance including the falls which are at the bottom of the street. Hotels are geared more for the family setting and less ideal for romantic couples. Wine Experience: Maybe youre looking to relax and enjoy the world class wine experience of the Niagara Region. If so, accommodations by Niagara Falls will usually tend to work against you. There are two popular areas of interest for the wine explorer Niagara on the Lake, and Jordan Village. Wine and dine in luxury in these locations with their old world charm and exquisite pallets of taste. These are upper class areas that cater to the finer points of life. Enjoy Niagaras Ice Wine as you tour some of over 70 wineries in the area. While both areas may offer something for the children, it is definitely not geared for them and would make an extended stay more difficult.About the Author:
