The construction buildup industry will see growth due to the rise in population

More people will become employed in construction jobs through the year 2018. This is determined by the amount of new construction that is happening and renovations that are being done on older buildings, which are set to increase over the next ten years.

The rates of residential construction are also set to grow during the next decade to keep up with the rise in population. The oldest children of baby boomers will reach their main house buying time in the next ten years, so this demand will create more construction buildup jobs. There will also be an increased demand for senior living facilities and healthcare structures that will lead to more growth. Throughout the period, the renovation of older buildings will remain steady.

In the nonresidential construction area, employment is set to grow since many industrial plants will need replacing, and many buildings will need to be remodeled or replaced. The increasing senior population will mean that more medical facilities will be required as well. The population in the West and South is growing the most, so schools will be required in this area. However, due to the economic crisis, the State's budgets might not have the necessary funds for years to come.

Civil and heavy engineering construction should grow since there will be construction of bridges, highways, streets, and repair and maintenance to stop more damage to the country's bridges and highways. Mostly, legislators and voters keep approving spending for construction of roads, and this will result in many more jobs in the future.

Power lines and things related will also keep growing into the future. Although we are trying to become more energy efficient, there is still a greater demand for power. This might result in the building of new power plants as well as getting them hooked into present power grids.

The most new construction buildup jobs will come from specialty trades contracting because it is not only the biggest part of the industry, but is supposed to grow just as quickly as the other sectors in this industry. New buildings and heavy construction increases will mean a greater demand of workers to remodel and repair standing homes. Specialty trade contractors usually do these jobs. While the home construction market is slowing, the need for repair and remodel will continue. Since there are many older commercial and residential buildings, remodeling will give even more jobs.

Several jobs in the construction buildup industry are expected to either continue or rise, while some will see less work than in previous years due to the recession.
