However, a compressor would be considered useless without the other critical component of the fridge the insulated body! The body of the fridge should have a good insulation from inside as the endurance of cooling depends on it. A good quality solar fridge normally has a polyurethane insulation and coated steel cabinets. A solar powered DC fridge also has a cooling fan to dissipate the heat generated by the compressor and maintain uniform cooling inside the fridge.
