Tinnitus is known as ringing, buzzing, or roaring sound in the head or ears
. This condition is commonly caused by various medications, head injury, and also overexposure to the loud noises. There is no cure for tinnitus yet you can follow some treatments such as biofeedback, amplification, and cochlear implants. Another promising treatment is known as Ultra High Frequency Vibration Therapy or simply known as vibration therapy.
Vibration therapy is also known as the retraining or sound therapy. It is aimed to mask and cover the effects of tinnitus by using the sound. It is to reprogram the brain to cancel out the whooshing, ringing, and some other sounds from tinnitus. The successful result of this therapy is known as the residual inhibition which is able to last in a minute of up to weeks.
Based on one of the studies which was published in international Tinnitus Journal mentioned that vibration therapy which can be used as the treatment of tinnitus include the UltraQuiet system which employs the patented sound in the range of 10 up t0 20 kHz through the way of bone conduction which is known as the conduction of the sound to inner ear by way of bones in the skull.
The stimulus which was used during the research was music. It showed that it was more effective than the noise. The stimulus was processed digitally and shifted in a pitch before it was recorded to the CD. Then, it was played to a bone-conduction transducer.
Vibration therapy is claimed to be able to change the way the brain processes the tinnitus. It is able to provide more permanent residual inhibition than any other type of treatment. The patient who receives this kind of therapy is able to gain tinnitus relief. This relief will be able to last for about two months.
