Halloween is right around the corner and the office party invites will start flooding your inbox. Probably then you immediately start thinking of what to wear, how can you wow the office with your witty and creative side, or just going to dust off that 70s fro and do it all again this year. There are ways to get creative without having to shell out tons of hard in cash. Here are some ideas how you can get dressed up and show your festive side but not your wallet.

1.) Go to a thrift store. You can find some great second hand or 20th hand items that you can throw together. Do an 80s themed costume. Find a bright colored t shirt ($4), a mismatched blazer ($15) and a toy badge(police officer) throw some hair gel in your hair and BAM, youre on the set of Miami Vice. Be fun with it, tuck in the shirt and explore different matching items and you are set to go.

2.) Online shopping. There are tons of online costume sites and a lot of them are very expensive and once you receive the item the quality is pretty cheap, some don't even make it through the night. I recommend using eBay. Find cheap accessories for your costume, like a faked out bling necklace or a big ol' watch. Now you can piece out items on there with other clothing you might own, but please wear clothing. Here is a tip when on eBay. A lot of items are very cheaply priced, but mark up the shipping and that's where people like to make their money. Go up to the top and filter items to Ending Soon, then search that with the price you are comfortable to paying. Waiting on items for up to 7 days for the auction to end can really consume up your time and with Halloween around the corner, it might not arrive in time. Also, check out Amazon, they have a lot of fun items on there as well. You can items shipped very quickly and a lot of times find some cheap items too. Just search costumes and you will be spending hours looking for your next WOW costume.

3.) Trade. There is nothing wrong with trading costumes with friends. It is probably the most cost effective idea. If people are wearing the same costume every year, it tends to get boring. You see a co worker wearing something you would like to wear, offer up a trade. People will notice and it will be pretty funny. Or dress up like someone you know, but be nice! Remember you do work with these people and you don't want to offend anyone, but just have a little fun.....wouldn't hurt to ask them ahead of time either.

4.) Make-up. Not big into Halloween? Or just don't care? You might just want to do something just a little. It implies that you tried and sometimes that goes a long way. Pick up some cheap ($5) costume makeup and your local department store and just do something a little fun. Tear Drop, blood from the mouth, vampire bite on the neck, black eye. Something like this will lively up your office experience. Also, some buck teeth or vampire teeth are always fun.

Remember, you don't have to spend a ton of cash to impress people. Just having fun and doing something a little creative can make the office party seem that much better and especially if you don't care to spend a lot of money.
