The proper way to process shorthand notes or recordings into legal documents is covered. Students learn to take notes and create transcripts based on trials and hearings.

*Speed-Building

Professionals are required to type at a quick speed and with accuracy. A speed-building course focuses entirely on getting students to develop their typing speed on an escalating scale. The goal is to reach the 120-130 words-per-minute requirement established by the field.

Programs train students to obtain voluntary certification. Some states may require voice writers to complete licensing exams. Certification provides students with established proof of their skills that helps them obtain careers.
