Create Your Own DVDs with Windows Movie Maker and DVD Creator

The task of creating DVDs with WMM and DVD Creator takes the following four steps:

Import videos into Windows Movie Maker and edit them

The video formats supported by Windows Movie Maker are .avi, .wmv, .asf, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpv2 and .wm. If your videos are not in the WMM compatible formats, then you need to convert them to one of the supported formats first. And a video converter can help you a lot on this issue. In a word, you must make sure that the videos to be edited on WMM are in the WMM formats. Then launch the Windows Movie Maker application. Click the "import video" under Capture Video in Task pane to add the videos you want to edit.

Now you can begin to edit your video files on Windows Movie Maker as you like. Generally speaking, WMM has five major editing functions: Trim/Split/Combine clips, Add effects, Add transitions, Add background audio and Maker titles or credits. Follow the interface wizard, and you can easily complete the video editing task.

Burn the edited videos to DVD with DVD Creator

Insert a blank DVD into your DVD burner. And then install the DVD Creator and launch it.

Click the Add Video button to load the edited videos or just directly drag them in and drop to the DVD Creator program. You can add several video files at one time and arrange them by clicking MoveUp or MoveDown button.

Then pick your favorite DVD template menu from the Menu option. In the template section you can change the background picture and music with your own. And then choose your DVD type form the Profile drop-down list and specify a destination folder for the temporary video file.

If you like, you can also further make some basic video editing on the DVD Creator before burning the videos. For example, some videos may have black margins and you can go to the Crop tab to get rid of them; if you only want to burn parts of the whole video, then you can cut the video with Trim function; you can also change the video brightness, saturation, contrast and audio volume, or even add some logo or text watermark to the DVD video interface.

After you have made all the video settings, you can click the DVD Creator convert button to burn the videos. To make sure the videos looks what you like, you can have a preview of the videos before the DVD Creator start burning.

Note, if you are operating on MacBook, you need to download DVD Creator for Mac, since DVD Creator is designed for Win.
