Creating the Best Elf Costume

Halloween is always celebrated with children's costumes

. That's why, when it's coming, you can either create or purchase costumes for your child. Purchasing costumes may not be easy-on-the-budget and it entails lesser hassles. On the other hand, if you prefer to create your own, it consumes a lot of time but only needs a lesser budget. In turn, you can really save some money. It depends on you though. You have plenty of Halloween costumes to choose from. Among these, the elf costume is one of the most pleasurable to create and purchase as well.

Purchasing the Elf Costume

If you have decided to purchase your child's elf costume instead of creating on your own, then you shouldn't be having any problems because there are many places which offer these costumes. Basic elf costumes consist of a big shirt or dress, tights and a hat. Others also include a belt or a pair of suspenders.

You may even rent it if you like. But the money you spend for costume rentals is almost the same with the money you spent for buying a costume.

Creating an Elf Costume

If you do decide to create an elf costume, you need to have a sweatshirt in a red or green color, fabric, a Santa hat, suspenders, decorative tights, and some ribbon. Then, add some glitter and ribbons on the sweatshirt.

After that, you have to decorate the hat as well. But if you want to save some more money, you may not use a real Santa hat. You can create one by utilizing a construction paper. To make one, cut a triangular shape from the construction paper. Attach it together with glue.

You can now start dressing your child with sweatshirt, hat and tights. If you think the outfit needs more glitter and ribbon, then go add some more. You can even let your child help in creating this costume. It would be a great idea since they are the ones wearing this and that way, you can ensure they'd like it too.

Creating Halloween costumes is really enjoyable. So, if you're eager to do so and you have all the time in the world, then you've got to do it. Remember, children can be involved in this costume creation.
