Cure Your Panic Attacks

Panic attacks are a very real part of people's lives every day. They affect some 20% of, or about 60 million, adult Americans. While once dismissed as nerves or stress, panic attacks are now recognized as a real medical condition.

Panic attacks are much more intense and upsetting than "regular anxiety" that we all experience. They are often described as "stressful" and "terrifying" by the people who suffer from them. A panic attack can develop with little or no warning and can be experienced by people of all ages. They are very unpredictable, happening at any time, even during sleep.

Not all panic attacks are the same for everyone, and people have varying degrees of attacks. While they can be different for every person who has them, the general experience is usually quite similar. Panic attacks can seem to come from nowhere and are like a surge which physically and mentally overwhelms.

Panic attacks usually involve a gut-wrenching, overwhelming sense of fear, often including the belief that one is "going crazy" or about to die. They are often associated with physical symptoms such as shaking, heart palpitations, sweating, chest pain, shortness of breath, a feeling of choking, nausea , cramping, diarrhea , dizziness, an out-of-body sensation (a feeling of being apart from oneself), tingling in the hands, chills or hot flashes, and headache. Symptoms of panic attacks may be mistaken for heart problems or other illnesses.

Panic attacks usually occur suddenly, unpredictably and without a logical cause, and can leave those who suffer from them shaken and upset. In panic attacks, the body reacts with exactly the same symptoms as a fear response, but without any physical danger being present. Ironically, panic attacks most often occur during non-threatening, normal activities.

While panic attacks do not cause any physical harm, they can lead to deep psychological problems and can seriously inhibit the social and professional lives of the people who suffer from them. They can be so frightening that some people begin to change their behavior because they're afraid of having an attack. Fear of panic attacks, then, often becomes the cause of the panic attack. People with panic attacks often fear telling others of their disorder, because they are afraid they will be viewed as "crazy" or abnormal.

Panic attacks do not have a clear cause so finding the best method to cure them can be difficult.
