2. Face or screen treatment
Enclosure
The housing of the screen could either be made from high quality ABS plastic or metal depending on the type and configuration. Plastic is most popular in traditional LCD monitors but a metal enclosure is ideal for industrial and heavy duty use. The monitor can
also be an open frame model and is best installed using brackets and frame mounts. Waterproof enclosures could also be specified for those who demand a high quality custom monitor with all weather capabilities. The thin profile and relatively light weigh of LCD monitors enable them to be either rack or panel mounted to custom fit the needs of
the client. This is a popular option for the medical practitioner as it enhances flexibility in any given application.
Screen Treatments
Custom monitors can be ordered with an optional glass panel placed on top of the screen. This unique option minimizes glare and enhances screen clarity and sharpness. A glass panel will also provide a degree of protection to the screen. This option is best for touch screen LCD monitors that are available in both capacitive and resistive designs, with the latter providing less picture clarity than the former.
Industrial LCD monitors can also come with sunlight-readable or high brightness configuration which is best suited for outdoor and commercial use. The kind you see on street signs or large LCD billboard ads on the screen are an example of high brightness LCD monitors.
