Basics Stick with basics like sit and stay, while training a Dachshund. They are limited in jumping and climbing, so you need to be careful with that. Don't let them jump on the furniture and it is better to teach them that this is not allowed, at early stages.
Clicker Training synergize their training with clicker. They are not very sensitive to hearing, but they do respond to sharp sounds like the clicker has. Clicker training can be done using short bursts that can gather Dachshund's attention.
Rewards As Dachshunds have strong will, so the punishment will not be a good idea. This will only make them more stubborn and will not able to be trained. Inversely, use positive reinforcements like rewards and treats to get the good behaviour. Treats and rewards as inducements are loved by the Dachshunds.
Beside their cuteness, Dachshunds are very stubborn and needs a lot of care, energy and patience to be trained. During training, it is not recommended to lose your upper hand. Once it is done, the things will be difficult later.
