The Lighthouse

Scotland's Centre for Architecture, Design and the City, 'The Lighthouse', has a beautiful spiral staircase leading up to the Mackintosh Tower, where you and your dating partner can gain an uninterrupted view of the Glasgow cityscape. The Lighthouse also has a range of exhibitions, including a permanent exhibition about Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who worked for the firm who designed the building as an apprentice. Barrowlands

If you're looking for an evening of live music for you and the person you are dating, Glasgow is the perfect location. The city's legendary Barrowland Ballroom is one of the most famous live music venues in the world, having hosted a huge variety of notable acts including Oasis, The Cure, The Smiths, U2, Blur, Britney Spears, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Alice Cooper. The Shish Mahal is an example of a really good Indian restaurant, ideal for a Glasgow dating experience, although there are many others where you can get an excellent curry, most of the best being clustered together between Charing Cross & Berkeley Street. The Shish Mahal itself is believed to have invented the Chicken Tikka Masala, the UK's favourite Indian dish. The Shish is throught to have responded to Glaswegian complaints that Indian curries were to dry, soaking their chicken in tomato soup and spices, and thereby creating the wetter curries we usually eat today - now you can impress your dating partner with a little history and a lot of spice!

Bar Buddha

The original Bar Buddha on Vincent Street in the financial district is a quirkily chic place to take your dating partner for a relaxed, subdued evening. The unique interior is full of eastern promise and there is a fun cocktail menu - all the better to keep you entertained when dating in Glasgow. Downstairs is a small club where you can stay until the early hours.

Corinthian
