Dating Relationship - Making Up After A Fight
Dating Relationship - Making Up After A Fight
We all have done it in our lives, time and again fighting with the person we love. It happens because of a misunderstanding, or because we are upset, or because of anger of something that was said, and so on. Fights are inevitable in a dating relationship of any kind. However, the dating relationship can grow stronger if you work through your fights. Its hard enough to date as it is fighting only hampers the progress of the dating relationship.
Find out why your partner is mad at you. Who started the fight Why was it started Is he angry with you, or are you angry with him Are both of you angry with each other Was it something you or he said While you're thinking, consider these reasons for the fight
You were supposed to call and you didn't
You admired someone other than your partner
You promised and canceled, again.
You made your partner feel insignificant
You caused your partner to perceive that you don't respect him or her
Your gift wasn't what your partner wanted
Your partner is bothered by your constant questioning and probing
You've violated your partners trust
In the same way, if you're mad at your partner, spend some time to figure out why. Figure out if the problem is serious and also about why you're upset about it.
You must work through the issues now don't leave your troubles for later, or they'll just get worse. Try expressing your anger and frustration without blaming your partner, without raising your voice, or swearing, criticizing, or otherwise damaging your relationship.
What this also indicates is that you cant run away if things get difficult. Lets study a couple called Anne and Harry, who are dating. They got in a fight earlier, because Harry canceled on the plans they had for a date. Its happened more than once in a week and Anne has just about had it she walks away from Harry without explaining to him why shes angry. To add to this, she leaves a voice-mail for him later telling him that hes the worst boyfriend in the world, and that hes probably cheating on her, and that he definitely doesn't care about her. So far only Anne was mad, but now Harry is as well. Plus, even after her rant, Anne doesn't feel any better.
If the pair had dealt with it in a different way, by sitting down and talking about it, it would have gone better. Anne could have explained to Harry that she doesn't like it when he cancels and could find out why he does that. However, the way they handled it is the way that most couples do and then the relationship suffers. If Anne could practice some humility and apologizes for what she said, and Harry apologizes for what he did, they would have a better chance of working it out.
When you next have a problem with your partner, try to work through things. Only after that comes the making up. Note though, that if your partner doesn't know why you're angry, the same problem is likely to repeat. The blame is on you, as you've not bothered to explain.
Start by making up after a fight, you must start making up pretty quickly, before the bitterness sets in. You must do this even if you're still angry. Express your feelings of love, even if both of you are angry. You need to mix the good stuff in with the bad stuff. If you don't have room for the good stuff, your relationship wont have the chance to recover.
Theirs much you can do to make up with your partner. Kiss, hug, or have sex they are all great make up tools.
