Love set you on the path to building your relationship, you probably still love your partner but you have the bad feeling that they could be cheating on you. Once you have forgiven them then you have to draw a line under the experience, it is not something that you can keep bringing up or it will cause serious friction and resentment. There is one thing issue which you cannot afford to be flexible on. The relationship can only move forward if the affair is over. You partner has give their word to that, if they cannot or they later break their word then it shows a complete and utter disregard for you and your relationship. In such a case you need to consider whether it is worth putting yourself through the heartache.

Something has obviously gone wrong with the relationship for your partner to go off and have an affair. You have toidentify these issues or else you will likely find yourself in this situation again. This needs the two of you to get together and for both of you to present your perspective to the other, each of you could have differing viewpoints, you need to bring these together to make any sense of the mess that you are in. It has to be done calmly and rationally, a screaming match and the blame game will do neither of you any good. If you love each other it is in your best interests to get to the root of the problem as quickly as possible, sort the problem and move forward together.

Once you have been able to resolve your issues, you need to looking at making sure that this never happens again. If you communicate with each other then if problems do arise you will be able to deal with them early, before they start to spin out of control. Look back to the reasons why you fell in love in the first place, people change over time but there is no reason why you should not try to recapture some of that early magic, you could have some fun along the way. Do things to show that you care and are thinking about your partner, you could text, email or call them. Find shared or new interests, things that you can do together. It does not have to be something grand, it is the simple things that come from the heart and mean so much more.
