Daughtry Tickets - A Serious Musician

Chris Daughtry isn't your teenage bubble-gum pop star or one-hit wonder

. The singer/songwriter who made a splash on American Idol has already sold millions of albums and is the first "Idol" to generate two consecutive chart-topping albums. The acclaimed singer has assembled a band called Daughtry, which includes guitarists Josh Steely and Brian Craddock, bassist Josh "JP" Paul and drummer Joey Barns.

In an interview with APP online, Daughtry muses about his future in the business, saying "This is what I want to do. I have a lot of music in me. I want to keep on doing this for as long as I can." Luckily for fans, there will be plenty of chances to score a pair of Daughtry tickets soon.

Before his stint on American Idol, Chris Daughtry had plenty of experience as an amateur musician. He began singing in small, local bands around the Greensboro area when he was just 16 years old. He joined the band Absent Element and auditioned for Rock Star: INXS in 2005. He was rejected, yet it was possibly the best bit of bad news for Daughtry. Shortly afterward he auditioned for American Idol and earned a spot on the popular American series.

Daughtry fulfilled the rocker niche and charmed the judges and audience members with his winning smile. The enthusiasm over Daughtry really took off after he made it to the final 12 and performed a rendition of Fuel's "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)." In fact, his performance prompted the members of Fuel to practically beg Daughtry to become their new lead singer.

Chris Daughtry said thanks, but no thanks to the offer presented by Fuel after he was eventually booted off the show; the aspiring singer had plans of his own. He signed with Idol's 19 Entertainment and RCA Records and within a short amount of time released DAUGHTRY, a project that was put together with the help of four other band members. The album became a huge hit and rode on the success of the leadoff single "It's Not Over." Daughtry had, in fact, become more popular than his American Idol rivals Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee. Five songs charted in the Top 40 before he set to work on his sophomore set.

Leave This Town proved to be a great second full-length effort for Chris Daughtry. It was released in 2009 and featured the two popular singles "Everytime You Turn Around" and "What I Meant to Say." All five band members appear on the CD's cover and they offer fans a heavy dose of alternative rock and post-grunge tunes. The resulting sounds from the album represent modern day rock without the needless glitz and glamour found on some of today's releases.

Chris Daughtry may not have walked away an Idol champion, but he seems to have left many of the show's winners in the dust. Now three years after he first made his appearance on the talent competition, he remains one of the most devoted hard rockers on the scene. Don't miss out on one of his live performances today!
