Decision making involves choosing among various alternatives a course of action so as to achieve goals and objectives. There are various concepts that I have learned from my MBA and these concepts have facilitated and improved my decision making. My decision making process has improved drastically. This has been facilitated by the courses that I have done during my MBA program. I am now able to make better decisions than before. In line with this, I have been able to improve my life for the better. This is because the decisions that I have been making are sound and precise. I am now able to make timely and well-considered decisions compared to before. My leadership skills have been enhanced and I am able to make better decisions due to the broadened knowledge I have acquired in my MBA. I have been able to solve many problems. The concepts and approaches that I have learned have enabled me to first of all critically analyze data, past records and perform analysis before committing myself to a particular decision. I have learned how to obtain the information and data that I need from the right sources i.e. sources that are credential. I am now able to look at the issues that are involved in making simple and difficult decisions. While making difficult decisions I am able to analyze the factors that come in hardy in such a situation like uncertainties where facts are not known, complexity of the many interrelated factors that are related to the final decision, the consequences of the decision I will make, the alternatives present, and the interpersonal issues involved. The later is because it becomes difficult to predict other people's reaction to the decision you have come up with. With the MBA, I am able to make a decision that will not affect people negatively. It has also made me come up with an effective process whenever I am making a decision and this has led to a consistent, sound and high quality decision.

On ethical matters, MBA concepts have helped me to define what is ethical and what is not and after that to define and clarify the issues at hand and then decide whether the issue warrants an action or not. The ethical issues have impacted much on my decision making compared to before. This is because I have to critically analyze all issues, gather all the facts, understand their causes, consider the pros and cons, and finally consult in order to select the best and sound options. MBA has made me analyze ethical issues deeply before making a decision. I am now making most of my decisions based on ethical issues as compared to before.

The criterion for evaluating the outcomes of my decisions has changed due to the approaches I have learned in MBA. I am now able to evaluate the outcome of my decisions based on a systematic weighing of the benefits incurred and draw backs experienced. I am also frequently using decision trees which are really helping me to choose between many available alternatives and courses of actions (Mind Tools Ltd). With the decision trees, I am able to explore the available options and I am then able to investigate and determine the possible outcomes that will be present for choosing those options. These have also assisted me to form a balanced picture of all the risks involved in choosing a certain option and all the rewards that I will get with every possible action that I choose to take. The decision tree has changed the way I evaluate the outcomes of my decision because I evaluate the decision tree first before I evaluate the real outcome of the decision. Even before I make the decision, I am able to compare all the worth that each alternative presents, I am then able to determine which option has the greatest worth to me. With this, I am able to make the best assessment of the outcome of any decision that I make.

Conclusion

MBA program has therefore improved my overall decision making process. I am able to make good decisions under pressure, I understand other people's values can affect a good decision, I have avoided jumping into conclusions and I have avoided many common flaws involved in jumpy decision making. I am able to choose fairy among many alternatives and forecast on all the risks and uncertainties that may come about. It has helped me avoid making biased decisions and I am able to know first hand all the consequences of a decision even the unexpected. Deciding to take an MBA was deciding to decide.
