Having the right mindset when you are attempting to declutter your home and reclaim your space is critical to your success
. Most people underestimate the importance of this fact and that is why they get overwhelmed and quit when working to organize their home.
This has been true for me because I end up getting overwhelmed and quitting unless my mind is in the correct mode for fast decluttering and organizing. I hate it when I give up on a project because I get overwhelmed and just sick of trying. What makes all the difference is where my head is at. I have to have the right mindset or I will fail.
You must have a good goal in mind, that is key to your success. Don't start the decluttering and organizing until you've firmly chosen a goal for that session. As with most things in life, unless you have a clear and realistic goal, you'll end up off-track and frustrated.
Your goal that you've chosen should be small and easy to accomplish, and then do not do anything that detracts from you reaching that goal. Work hard to resist the inevitable distractions you'll run into! Keep your direction moving only towards reaching that goal! Do not let the enormity of your clutter problem overwhelm you, simply focus on getting that one goal done.
Why is it so important to stick the one goal you set and not stop until you reach it? Accomplishing a goal, no matter how small it may be, gives you something you can see real positive results in. But more importantly it is a big morale boost for you; it feels great to accomplish goals and motivates you to do more. By taking on your clutter problem one step at a time you'll soon have a comfortable, organized home you can be proud of!
