Decorating A Small Space

When you move into an apartment you may have to go into a studio apartment

, these places are a bit hard to decorate and make the apartment look nice and not too crowded.

Studios are not the largest space in the world in fact they would most likely be one of the smallest if not the smallest places to move too. To make you're studio look good and have some of your own taste use some of these ideas. First what you should do is try and create different areas in your room. You can do this by getting some material and wood and making a partition. If you don't want to make your own try finding one at a garage sale or a local store. You can also try and use a regular curtain and put a rod up to put the curtain on. You should try and keep you're bedroom separate from your area where you sit. Picking out your own material to build these from will have you bringing in your own style.

A lot of studios don't have a separate kitchen in them so you will need to set up a spot that will be where you cook. Try and make sure that you have the setup close to a window this way you can open the window when you're cooking. Also since you don't have a lot of space you may want to try putting up some shelves. You can use these for plates of cups it's a nice way to set up with a little bit of room being used. For the kitchen table you may want to go out and buy a plank of wood that is a good size. Make it be able to hook up to the wall, this will allow you to put it up and down and save you some much needed room.

How about that sleeping spot this is where if you have made a partition of your own it will come in very valuable. Moving of the partition to block off an area around you're bed will have you feeling like you're in a bedroom. For the bed you should try and locate a folding bed that can be put up against the wall or maybe even a sofa bed, this way during the day the bed can serve as a place for you and friends to sit. If you want to add a bit to the bed that folds up on the wall have a picture mounted to the bottom of the bed. Some picture that will bring out your taste would be perfect.

Then comes the seating arrangement. It is a great idea to have a floor rug with seating cushions strewn along the wall to serve as a back rest. A soft fluffy area rug is a luxury in a place like a studio apartment. Just mark out a corner of the apartment and choose the right floor rug to match up with the walls and the linen and you have yourself a great seating area. Lining the walls with bamboo sheet panels or cane panels about 3 feet high from the area rugs and cushions will add interest to the lower wall area and also offer an impromptu back rest.
