Decorating Ideas For Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies
If you are planning an outdoor wedding ceremony and/or reception you have the natural beauty of your surroundings to add alot to your wedding. There are some added touches you can add to help enhance the look of your ceremony. These are with decorations such as arches, arbors, flowers and other decor.
You already have the chairs placed and the guests seated. The focal point of any wedding ceremony is the altar. The altar is where the bride, groom, wedding party and person officiating the ceremony stand during the ceremony. It can add alot to the altar to have some sort of place the bride and groom stand under such as an arbor or arch. Some venues already come with arches or gazebos, however, if you do not have a venue that does there are companies that you can rent these from that will delivery and set them up. Arches serve well for garden settings and are made of iron and wood. Chuppahs or arbors are usually 4 post and are draped in a fabric covering. These look good as well in garden or any outdoor setting. Bamboo arbors have become very popular for beach weddings on the sand. These often have sheer fabric coverings. Columns are usually white and can be placed on either side of the arch or by themselves. These are the perfect stands for medium to large flower arrangements.
Flowers are probably one of the most important features to enhance a wedding and are a way to bring out the color scheme of your wedding. You can discuss with your florist which flowers would best match your color scheme and are in season during the time of your wedding. You can decorate the entire arch/arbor with flowers or have flowers placed only at the top and/or sides. You may also choose to place columns with floral dispays on each side of the altar or if your vases are tall enough they can be placed directly on the ground. Rose petals for the aisle also look beautiful in an outdoor setting. These can be placed before the wedding or placed by the flower girl as she walks down the aisle. If you want to enhance the aisle - your florist will provide aisle stands with flowers in them or they can be wired to every other chair in the aisle. Flower centerpieces add splendor to your reception tables. You can have tall, short or a combination of vase styles. Fresh flowers can also be added to your cake and cake table.
Other decorations for outdoor weddings can include twinkle lights in the trees, tiki torches, trees and many more.
