"The place where we can rest after a tiring day at the office is our home

. We always sense the beauty that life has to offer. This is seen in the way we care for our home or in the way we beautify it. It is in decorating our home that we show we love our family because we want them to stay in a place where beauty and rest come easy. The decorations would enhance some areas of the house and would help hide some of the eyesore spots.

After all, at the end of a long and tiring day, a well-arranged and decorated house can give us the lift we need. It is then recommended that homeowners should decorate their homes. Decorating it need not be expensive. You can still achieve good aesthetics in your home through inexpensive decorations.

Here are some tips on how to decorate your home without spending much.

1. Watch for sale days from stores where you can get good buys for decorations.


2. Be alert for garage sales. Though these aren't new stuff, you will surely find something valuable.

3. Gather colorful and unusual materials you can find at home. Use or recycle it to make decorations. Plates, for instance, that are no longer used at home can be great wall decorations. You can stick photos or hand paint on them.

4. If you have bedsheets that are no longer used, you can decorate it with appliques or perhaps laces or beads and make it into throw pillow case.

5. Braid together pieces of cloth from used curtains or sheets to create kitchen or bathroom rugs.

6. Using different colors and sizes of tiles, mount some of your family pictures.

7. Hang together small pots, mugs, cups, and bells from a dried branch in your kitchen area.

8. Buy inexpensive ribbons of various colors and use them to tie your curtains.

9. Make large paper Mache flower pots. Gold or black can be used to paint them. Then, using colored stones and other colorful stuff in your house, embellish it. Use as a base for potted plants.

10. Rectangular shelves of different sizes can be mounted on your bare wall. Paint each one with a different color.

Put books in some, figurines with others and some with your own favorite collections.

The things mentioned are just simple but practical tips to decorate your home. You can discover new ways from these tips to give your home a makeover.
