It's easy to create a lasting impression when money is no object. However, if you're working on a budget, there are a few tips that can help you create a spectacular setting without spending a lot of money.

Use votives and tea lights. Votives are inexpensive, whereas tall, large candles can cost a significant amount for a single candle. For the same price, you can buy a hundred votives. And you should use hundreds of them. Don't be shy about lighting up the room with candlelight. That soft glow will be remembered. Votive lights can be used in candelabras or on dinner tables as well as the cake table.

Using an impressive napkin fold also adds to the feel of the room. This doesn't cost anything. Ways to fold napkins can be found on-line. This is a little touch that goes a long way. Napkins can be folded to look like a rose, bird of paradise, crown, opera fan and more.

Menu cards and table cards also create a mood. These can be printed at home using layered paper. You might choose a black background with a nicer hot pink paper to print the information on. Tucking the card into the napkin brings in another layer to table design. Using stands for table numbers brings in a design element. Stands are very inexpensive and may be provided by the venue.

Flowers are a part of almost every banquet hall design. However, you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on each display. The arrangement doesn't have to be enormous. Instead, think of using fewer flowers, but incorporating flowers with height for a wow' factor.

Using color breaks up the all-white linens that are the default color at most places. By substituting colored napkins and chair ties, you can bring in your color scheme while brightening up a room and making it feel more personalized.

No matter what you choose for your banquet hall, remember, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to create an elegant, fabulous ahhhhh' moment. Decide what the most important elements are for you and focus on those. By adding different layers and textures, you'll create visual intrigue.
