In a recent study conducted by the independent technology analysis company it was indicated that the revenue for SMS in mobile device have gone down by 9% in the year 2011. This means people are no more using SMS from cell phones for communication. It has shown a fall in percentage because of the increase in text messaging applications and free messaging platforms on the internet. In the years to come the trend of sending messages from free SMS sites will only remain and all the telecom companies will have to erase the text messaging service from mobile phones.

However the Indian telecom companies are not going to face any kind of threat due to fall in the SMS revenue because SMS forms just 10% of the revenue for the mobile communication industry in India. The fact that internet messaging has taken over text messaging is not a fact which can easily be neglected. With Smart phones having good Apps and internet facilities phone users find it easier to browse different websites at a low cost. Also many mobile phone users believe their phones to be mobile computing devices which can broadcast voice well at occasional intervals.

Telecom companies now need to select one path from the two laid ones. They have to either cater for the high class who use high speed internet on their phones for various transactions or glue to customers who use both services i.e. of calls and messages effectively. Both these ways however is going to end up being useless. Even though telecom companies strive to make the technology simplified it is not so easy to change everything in one shot. With internet connection very easily available on cell phones people will surely opt for internet messaging as it is totally free of cost.

Also we can see today many free SMS sites coming up which provide good services and features for sending text messages all over India. Free SMS websites are the best as it allows people to send group messages quickly to a lot of a people at one particular time. Also there are good categories of messages available on these free SMS websites which enables people to choose different types of messages.

One can though clearly view the shift in the phase of text messaging it has been seen that text messages via cell phones will slowly deplete in the near future. As, in the future it will be replaced by free SMS sites and messaging Apps.
