Demystifying The Failure Principle Of Body Building
For many years now, the failure principle has been in common use during body building workouts
. The principle has however fallen prey to misconception to become more confusing and even mysterious to new body builders. Training muscle to failure simply refers to the perfuming of a single set until the target muscle group reaches a point where it's unable to complete even one more rep. at this point the attempt to finish an addition rep fails completely and the body builder has to abandon the rep halfway. This principle when used to stimulate maximal muscle growth is more of a scientific fact than another of body building dogmas.
A great deal of body building literature has been dedicated to the failure principle and some of these conflicts in regards to the use and effect of the failure principle. Weight lifting exercises are the only workouts that should apply the failure principle. This should however be done without improper logic, misunderstanding and misapplication, as has been in the contemporary body building circles. The beginning of the demystifying process must be to point out that the principle is not as mythic as it has been regarded in recent times. Body building success in terms of muscle mass gains is not exclusively determined by the failure principle. The truth is just training a muscle to momentary failure is and has never been a fundamental requirements of muscle growth stimulation.
Am peculiar thing about training to failure is its rarity in other activities. Outside the weight room, no other human activity features going to failure. Nobody can really dig, box, play tennis or run until the respective muscle groups fail to complete a single additional repetition. Yet the men and women in this field or who participate in such activities still build muscle mass and strength. The quadriceps and hamstrings of sprinters still develop without ever having trained to failure in the track. The ability to maximally stimulate muscle for optimal growth exists in total disregard of training to failure. The deity status that has been asserted and given to the principle of training to failure is therefore misplaced.
The human body is a complex super-machine of adaptability. A slight variation to average or standard conditions prompts it to make complex calculations and then adjust accordingly to the requirements. The body is rarely disadvantaged for long because it readily adapts to any challenge. Whether adjusting to environmental factors like temperature or humidity, hydration ore to chemical alterations like blood viscosity, hydration, the body makes genius adjustments soonest possible.
It is upon this principle that body building is based. The body's ability to adapt to the biological demands for strength and muscle networks accrues with additions of muscle mass and strength. The body sets up new growth automatically if the last weight load was just too hard to complete. In preparation against tomorrow's failure, the body fashions out an increased in muscle mass, density and strength. And that is how the principle of training to failure originally worked. That is simply the way it should be viewed and implemented: as a means of maximally stimulating the body to assign further masculine growth.
