Depression Caused By a Sweet Tooth

There are two problems that seem to be sweeping the globe, one is a problem with obesity and in some countries, it is reaching epidemic proportions. Another problem that seems to go hand in hand with obesity in many of these countries is depression. As a matter of fact, it is considered to be one of the most reported illnesses in many countries in the world. Is it possible that there is a connection between the lack of a proper diet that many people are eating and the depression that they are experiencing? Let's look at the facts.Depression is not a new problem and as a matter of fact, it is a natural response that we experience as humans in many instances. For example, whenever we experienced the death of a loved one or another sad event in our lives it is perfectly natural for us to be depressed. Clinical depression, however, is something that is relatively new on the scene. Yes, people have been depressed for centuries but not in the numbers in which they are depressed now. As a matter of fact, it is difficult to find anyone who does not suffer from depression in some form or another. One of the things that may be behind depression in many cases is the lack of proper diet that we are eating. It is far too easy for us to get processed foods which includes a lot of sugar in our diet. These things not only lend themselves to making us overweight, they actually alter our feelings in many cases. It is not unusual for some people to feel angry whenever they eat too much sugar during the day and it certainly does make our insulin levels rise and drop, causing excitability followed by a lethargic feeling. If you think that the processed foods and sugar that you are eating are behind your depression, there is really only one thing for you to do about it. You need these things out of your diet and begin to eat a clean diet from this point forward. This would include adding such things as raw fruits and vegetables and healthy proteins and carbohydrates into your diet. Don't expect your diet to change overnight but by adding these healthy things into it, your diet will change naturally and your mood may just change along with it. Go ahead and try it.
