Design Tips To Create Dynamic Trade Show Exhibits For Less
Creating trade show exhibits on a budget is never easy
. Every company would like to have unlimited funds for marketing, and be able to use them however they see fit. Unfortunately, few are in that position. If you are like most companies, you'd welcome a way to get more out of your trade show displays while spending less. Although it isn't always easy, there are some tricks which help maximize your return while minimizing your investment.
Tip #1: Scale It Down
The best way to cut costs is by purchasing smaller booths. A surprising number of companies experience equal success with a smaller booth. As a test, think about how many people actually crowd into your stand at the average convention. If the area isn't completely full, you could probably lose a few square feet without a problem.
If you have not yet presented at a convention, you should choose a unit that fits within the space you've chosen. Generally, there are two standard square footage areas offered: eight foot and ten foot. If given a choice, a first-time convention attendee should usually choose eight foot and try that out for a while, particularly if that company is tight on funds. Visitors generally see little functional difference between eight-foot trade show displays and ten-foot trade show exhibits, and the smaller version is usually less expensive.
Tip #2: Resist The Urge To Replace
Spending time at conventions gives you a sense of the latest trends, but it can also make you lose sight of when your unit actually needs to be replaced. If your booth is damaged or threatening to fall apart, then you should consider a new one. If you're simply wishing that you had the newest available model with all the latest features, now may not be the best time to make a purchase.
Tip #3: Choose Classic Over Trendy
Unique trade show exhibits are always a good investment, provided that they are unique in a way that complements your company and enhances the image of your product. If money is tight, however, you want something with a classic design rather than a unit that will look outdated in a year's time. Choose clean, classic lines for the basics of the booth, and pick materials that will last for some time.
Tip #4: Banner Stands As Trade Show Exhibits
Many companies find success using banner stands as trade show displays, and many even prefer it when money isn't tight. These companies specially design their banner stands so that three or more can be aligned, forming one large display. The styling is very unique, it's quite easy to carry, and it can also be less expensive than purchasing a traditional booth of the same size.
Tip #5: Spend Wisely
Although saving money is an excellent goal, you need to remember that slashing your expenses too much can lead to problems down the road. If you buy from a company that doesn't use strong materials, you could have structural problems and be forced to stop using the booth. Cut down your budget if marketing expenses need to be trimmed, but always spend wisely, buying from companies that you know and trust. If you try out some of these tips and work with them, you could easily see significant savings.
