Aerobic exercise is still viewed as most as the best way to burn fat fast. But recently discovered is that this is actually a big fallacy. In fact, aerobics can be called a big mistake that happen to the health and fitness world a few years ago.

Why?

It's because of 2 main reasons:


Exercising at a moderate rate to a certain level of heartbeat is a big mistake, as much as it sounds like a good thing. It tells your body that it must hold on to a certain amount of fat for its next workout - basically to keep something for the next workout. Immediately you stop exercising, your metabolism goes back to converting food into fat cells so that it can be prepared for its next aerobic workout. You have immediately started to replace what you burnt off during your exercise.

Moderately paced aerobics forces your body - heart, lungs and muscles - to become efficient. Sounds good, right? In the long term, it's bad. Efficiency means that your body can only work at a given pace given certain resources. What happens if you overstep the boundary? You can't cope. You'd be surprised that even during times of emotional and mental stress, these barriers are crossed and your body finds itself unable to cope. Your chest tenses, you muscles tighten and you can barely react. Imagine if you accumulated some extra fat and tried to work harder to burn it - extremely difficult because you are already conditioned to a certain level of aerobic activity. The fat will keep there - no way you will be able to work it off and eventually, you just keep gaining more and more fat.

Solution?

High intensity resistance training. Work-out for at least 15-20 minutes on average at high intensity and you can limit this to 2-3 times a week. This will reverse in a short time all the effects of years of aerobic training.

You will burn carbs instead of fat during the workout and this will make your body seek the burnt out carbs in the 24 hours or so - not fats. It also increases your ability to handle all types of stress and you can be able to handle all sorts of strain. You'll be healthy and fit and you won't be craving fats so you'll only take what you need for everyday metabolic function.
