Packaging is the most common use of aluminium metal. It is widely used in foil wrapping, drink cans, bottle caps and foil carton containers. This is because this metal has an amazingly good quality of containing food cleanly and safely by protecting the content from outside environmental changes. Another reason why it is accepted as perfect option for food packaging is due its impervious nature, non-toxic quality and ability to retain aroma of the food.

Transportation

Aluminium is widely used in transportation industry because of its unbeatable strength and light weight. These two features make this metal ideal for goods carriage because light weight material is easier to move and needs less energy. Though it is not the strongest of metal but its alloys make use of other elements to increase its strength. Aluminium are used in trains, boat and land vehicles to make them more fuel efficient. This is also found in planes to make them lighter but the metal is combined with other alloy metal to make it more corrosion resistance.

Construction

Corrosion resistance feature make of aluminium virtually maintenance free metal for construction. For their light weight they are used widely in windows, door frames, cladding, skylights, gutters, and roofing. Another reason why it is preferred in construction is their quality of keeping home warm in winters and cool in summers. This metal can be also a good element at add beauty to the home. It can be turned into any shape, painted and used with other materials.

Power lines

Weight and low density of aluminium play a major role in making them ideal for power lines. For long distance power lines metal wire has to be good conductor, lighter in weight and density. Though, copper is the first for short power lines for being 63% more electrical conductivity but they are denser and aluminium can conduct twice electricity than copper of same weight. Secondly, this is a cheaper option for high voltage electric transmission compared t any other metal. Also, it is more ductile compared to other metal and can be drawn to wires with ease. Apart from power transmission, this metal is also used for signal transmission, such as satellite dishes and TV aerials.
