Different Causes For Crown Balding

Crown balding is something that some of us have to live with in our life time

. But for those who do not know what it is, this article will give you insight into this hair loss and the different reason that may be causing it. Firstly what is this balding?

Crown balding is a loss of hair on the scalp. It can occur in both men and women, though more frequently in men and for a different reason to women.

Crown balding in men.

One of the reasons for this type of balding in men is due to an enzyme in the body converting the hormone testosterone into dihydrotestosterone or DHA. DHA causes the hair follicles to become smaller and thinner, this in time causes the hair loss. If a treatment is begun early enough it may help prevent hair loss.

Other reasons for this type of balding.

There may be loss of hair on the crown due to high temperatures during illness and infection. This type of balding would most possibly not be permanent, depending on the symptoms and duration.

The use of steroids may cause balding of the crown.

Chemical exposure. When dangerous chemicals are used and the body becomes exposed for one reason or another to these toxins it may lead to the cause of crown balding. Whether permanent may depend on the chemical exposure and how long you were exposed.

Another reason why you may suffer from this type of hair loss is a psychological problem called Trichotillomania. During the psychological problem Trichotillomania the hair may be pulled out from the crown of the scalp. If the cause of this problem were rectified there may be a possibility of it not being permanent.

Gland problems in the body with the pituitary and thyroid glands may be a cause for crown balding upon upsetting the bodies normal functioning. Finding the right treatment may be of benefit to reverse this problem.

Fungal infections such as ringworm left untreated for too long of a period could cause this balding as the fungus, which forms a ring, begins to expand and the hair falls out in the centre. Though this may not be a permanent problem once treated with a ringworm treatment.

A stressful environment may cause a person to become, run down, and may be a cause of hair loss on the crown. This may be helped by a sensible diet and good rest and some recreation. Eliminating some of the stressful things in your life may also help reduce this hair loss.

One other thing that can start hair loss is a constant use of strong hair dyes over a long period. This may also be a cause of hair loss to the crown.

Over all, finding the reason why you are losing your hair will help you find the right treatment to help stop it.
