Different Dimensions Of 3d Graphics

The three-dimensional graphics mainly involves the display of multimedia effects

. In this kind of computer graphics, an animator uses a three-dimensional representation of geometric data. There is not much of a difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional images. The two-dimensional images can be used to create the three-dimensional graphics while 3D applications can be used for the purpose of acquiring effects for 2D applications. The 3D pictures are used in different professional fields ranging from entertainment industry to commercial world. An animator should be aware of the effective creation and utilization of the three-dimensional pictures.

Origin of three-dimensional images:

The origin of these images can be traced back to twentieth century when William Fetter coined the term computer graphics in the 1960s. Then an animated film named Futureworld was introduced which was a sequel to the science fiction film Westworld. This film popularized the animated images in the world.

The 3D animation is created on the basis of algorithms of 2D raster graphics in the final rendered display as well as two-dimensional vector graphics in the wire-frame model. There are several stages in the creation of the art of 3D image. Modeling is a process of creating a 3D mesh with the help of which you can either create a house or a man as an animated image. There are different kinds of strategies for creating a mesh. It entirely depends on the knowledge and line of thought of the animator while choosing these strategies in order to create a mesh. In order to put life into an object, you employ the process of animation of taking a three-dimensional object and create its movements. Texturing is another aspect of the computer graphics for making the animated objects look attractive. This method is employed for adding visual effects and impact to the animated objects. The method is to use a Photoshop for this purpose. In these tools, you can unwrap the mesh and add colors over the object. Last but not least you have a step of rendering. This is the most important step in which you consider the lighting effects, reflections, transparency and other such special effects. Correctly arrange the scenes and rig the characters to style a specific scene in an emphatic manner.
