The Magnetic flow meters were first introduced in 1952. Currently they are one of the most used types on the market within Europe. Actually, at this time they are one of the general liquid flow meters that the most money is spent on each year. These types of meters are most useful for things related to the measurement of water. Most of the time these types of meters are used for sanitary applications and is the reason why many of the production and development is surrounded around the line size in addition to their design.

Ultrasonic meters have started to grow in their popularity. Much of their popularity surrounds around different publications with information on the measurement of natural gas. These type of meters are primarily used for this sort of thing, in addition to the liquid hydrocarbons.

One type of meter that is not very popular is the Vortex Flowmeter. These types of meters are very accurate and less intrusive than other meters out there. They are also good at handling high pressures and temperatures for measuring steam flow.

Choosing a Meter

Anytime a meter is chosen for a certain use, a technical assessment must be done in order to gauge the pressurized system. In addition, an evaluation must be conducted on the operator and their capacities, as well as needs.
