VLC Media Player 1.1.0 which was recently released added several new features and enchantments, including GPU acceleration for HD Decoding.
However so far only Nvidia users have been able to utilize this new enhancement as the newly implemented code was not working properly with ATI Radeon based cards.
VLC Media Player developers have been working with AMD to rectify this problem and are pleased to announce that the forthcoming release of VLC Media Player 1.1.1 which will be available to download shortly, will work correctly with ATI Radeon graphic cards using ATI Catalyst suite 10.7 onwards.
