Lenders will pull your credit report, verify income from tax returns, transcripts, and other documentation provided by you. Servicers must verify the borrower's monthly gross expenses as reported by the credit agencies.

b. Monthly payments on all closed-end subordinate mortgage (second mortgages)

c. Alimony payments, child support and separation payments (in lieu of a final divorce) with no more than 10 months left, if supplied by the borrower.

d. Car lease payments regardless of the number of payments left

e. Monthly payments on revolving or open ended accounts, regardless of what you owe. If no stated payment lender will calculate by multiplying the outstanding balance by 3%

f. Negative rental income from all properties if supplied by the borrower

g. Any payments on installment debt with more than 10 months of payments left (including deferred or forbearance accounts).

h. Heloc mortgage will use the minimum payment on credit report

A servicer should not consider expenses of non-borrower household members when calculating monthly gross expenses.

Remember you should sit down and take a look at your overall monthly debt and what you may left over at the end of each month. If you are too positive you may not show a financial hardship, if you are two negative you may not be able to afford the home. Carefully review before submitting your loan modification application.
