Dish Network Picture in Picture Feature

Dish Network has turned something that has long been a "cable only" feature and turned it into an advanced feature for it's customers, who can now enjoy the Picture-in-Picture capability that they have with their televisions. You won't be able to do this with DIRECTV and that's a shame - seeing as though you purchased this feature when you bought your television.

Picture-in-Picture (PIP) - Watch two shows at the same time on one TV

Want to watch your favorite team play and catch the evening news at the same time? With Picture-In-Picture (PIP) you can! If you have a Dish Network dual-tuner Duo receiver, you can use PictureInPicture. It's easy to use - here's how:

* Make sure you are in Single Mode to enjoy PictureInPicture. Follow the instructions below to put your receiver in Single Mode and learn how to use PictureInPicture.

* To change to Single Mode so that you can enjoy Picture-In-Picture, follow these simple steps:

* In most cases, the Mode button is located behind the door(s) located on the front of the receiver.

You may also need to enable Shared View on your receiver. Follow these steps to enable:

1. On the remote control, press Menu. Select 6 "System Setup." Select 2 "Shared View."

2. Press the left arrow button and select "Enable View."

3. Select "Done."

Now you are ready to enjoy Picture-In-Picture, here's how:

1. Press the PIP button on your remote to display Picture-in-Picture.

2. Press the POSITION button to move the smaller window around the screen

3. Continue to press the PIP button to toggle through different window sizes.

4. Press the SWAP button to select which window you want to be active. The active window is the window with sound.

5. To change channels while using Picture-in-Picture, press the SWAP button until the window you want to change is the active window and then change the channel.

The following receivers support PIP:

* DuoDVR ViP 922
