My wife wants a divorce after cheating but I'm still in love with her. How do I stop the divorce from happening in order to save my marriage? This is a question that is becoming far too common in these modern times we're living in. Very few people take the idea of divorce lightly. This isn't something that anyone in a loving marriage wants to happen. 1) Offer compliments freely. Your wife may seem to brush them off but secretly she's delighted that you've noticed the effort she puts into looking good for you, making a great dinner, and taking care of hearth and home. She takes great pride in making you happy. You both may have forgotten a little bit but something as simple as this will remind you.
2) Apologize. Yes, your wife is the one having the affair but that doesn't mean you are completely blameless. If you dig down deep I'm sure you'll find something that you can sincerely apologize for in the marriage. Your apology will accomplish quite a few things. First, it will surprise her into thoughtfulness. Second, it will remind her what a thoughtful human being you are and then she'll begin to think of all the other reasons she fell in love with you in the first place.
