Do We Understand our Intuition?

We all have intuition whether we realise it or not

. In the dictionary the definition of intuition is: knowledge or belief obtained neither by reason or perception; a hunch, sixth sense and extrasensory perception.

Interesting. Did you ever get a feeling about someone when you met him or her for the first time? This is you intuition. You know instinctively whether you are going to get on with them or not. Is this correct? On many occasions I have had this experience. Or when you just get someone' straight away and feel like you have known them for years?

On an odd occasion I have met someone and not had a good feeling about them. I have wanted to keep away from them and even felt guilty for feeling this way. Have you ever had this happen to you? This is your intuition, instinct, hunch, inner voice, or whatever it means to you. It is your knowingness.

We all have this gift and it is sorely underestimated. As children and because society is the way it is we were encouraged to ignore this gift as there was no physical evidence to prove that it existed! We have been conditioned to shut down from anything spiritual, as it is the unknown and therefore unsafe! How negative is that!

One way of getting in touch with your intuition is to sit in a quiet place and take several deep breaths. Let the stresses and strains of your day drain away. This is also called meditation. When you get quiet i.e. stop the mind chatter, then you are in a knowing' state. You are in touch with your intuition. Then you can quietly ask a question or ask for help with whatever is bothering you. If you stay quiet and open', then eventually an answer will come.

Practising this regularly helps, and when you come from a calm and centred place the questions you ask are not self-seeking, ego driven questions, as you will not receive a reply, but ones asking for help and guidance on everyday matters. In my experience I have always received a reply and it has helped me enormously.

Where are we going, why are we here, where have we come from? All perfectly reasonable questions and yet we continue to struggle with finding an answer. Man has always strived for power. Power is knowledge and as such has been used to suppress, dictate, control and have dominance over people.

Power from a spiritual point of view, comes from a place of love, from a place of truth. When someone comes from this angle e.g. Jesus Christ, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, miracles happen; healings occur and evil is extinguished.

So, to finish, everyone can use their intuition to help them with everyday issues and problems. It will not let you down when you need it most and when you ask from a loving place. Enjoy practising!
