Do You Discriminate Against the Eyeglasses Wearers

It is a common phenomenon that more and more people wear eyeglasses due to various vision problems. People always say eyeglasses wearers look more elegant and knowledgeable; however, it seems that this statement is not true. Some people think bad of or even discriminate against the eyeglasses wearers. I am an eyeglasses wearer and my following three experiences will support this idea.

The first experience is that I bought a pair of fake batteries at a shop outside my college when I was a freshman. So I asked the boss who was an ugly old woman to change another genuine pair for me. But she told me that there were nothing wrong with her batteries and didn't intend to change them for me. Then, I pointed out the problems and finally she refunded me in anger. However, she repeated that "none of the eyeglasses wearers are good at all". I was almost chocked by her.

The second experience is I was pulled into a coach by someone when I was buying tickets at a coach station. The female ticket seller told me their tickets were cheaper than that I could get at the ticket window. After the payment, I asked her for the ticket but was refused by her. When I asked her for the second time she even threw out such words, "all of you the glasses wearers are cunning" which irrigated me so much.

And now I want to discuss my third experience. This time, I took a taxi to school with several friends. As all of us wear glasses, we talked about eyeglasses unconsciously. However, the driver said, "to be true, I don't like people who wear eyeglasses and you cannot find any eyeglasses wearer from my friends". I was so angry that I responded to him, "you would never make friends with others if you were in college! "

I am so surprised at such an ignorant concept that people discriminate against eyeglasses wearers. I cannot conceive why they have this ridiculous idea. Does it because the eyeglasses wearers are likely to commit a crime? No, I don't think the crime rate is related to whether the person wears eyeglasses or not. Does it because the eyeglasses wearers are not easygoing? I don't think so as many eyeglasses wearers can make good friends with others? Does it because the eyeglasses wearers are ruder than the common people? I don't think so yet since I often meet some eyeglasses wearers who are well-mannered and politeAmong all the possible reasons, I cannot figure out a reasonable one to account for this absurd concept. Can you tell me why? And do you discriminate the eyeglasses wearers?
