However, if you are talking to very educated people and want to impress them with your communication skills, then you can flaunt your knowledge. You may then use flowery language and impress them with catchy sentences. Be tactfully smart.
Mind your body language: A noble man said that Action speaks louder than voice. Indeed, your body language plays a critical role in the communication skills you posses. The way you stand, the way you sit, the way you smile, the way you shake hands in fact the way your eyes move, every posture and gesture of yours speaks very loudly. A person leaning on the chair or couch indicates a careless attitude while an erectly sitting person gives an impression of attentiveness. Smiles too are of different types which give distinct impression such as sarcastic, kindness, funny and many more. Similarly handshakes and eye movements also tell how confident, submissive or dominating a person is. One can take lessons from experts about all these body language postures and gestures and push his career a level fast track.
Apart from the above mentioned guidelines, one must also be very confident while communicating. At the same time he is must not get over confident and must not speak crap. It is very important to be aware of the thin line between confidence and over confidence, which plays a key role in the process of communication. One must have patience too. A good communicator always tolerates those who are extrovert. One thing that must always be kept in mind is that to be a good communicator you must be a good listener too. Give others a chance to speak too. Listen what they say carefully and respond accordingly.
