Does MonaVie Really Work? The Truth Behind The MonaVie Drug Scam
In 1990, the World Health Organisation recommended that everyone should eat at least
5 portions of fruit and vegetables per-day, in order to protect against cancer and other diseases. The science behind these claims was based on the fact that fruit and vegetables contain antioxidants, which have been known to slow oxidative damage in the body, thus acting as a preventative measue against cancer.
Antioxidants are found in a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, including carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, peaches, citrus fruits, strawberries, cranberries, red grapes, pomegranate, kiwi, watermelon and squash basically most brightly colored fruits and vegetables! They are also found in fish, chicken, red meats, grains, tea, soy and red wine. Most significantly as far as MonaVie is concerned, they are found abundantly in the Brazilian acai berry.
The acai berry is a highly perishable fruit, which must be processed within 24 hours of being picked otherwise it ruins. It is found in the Brazilian rainforest, is purple in appearance, and resembles a blueberry in size. It is high in antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, and MonaVie claim that its health benefits have been known to the people of the Amazon rainforest for countless centuries'.
There has yet to be any conclusive scientific proof of the berry's medicinal powers, however.
Nevertheless, MonaVie users swear by the health benefits of consuming the acai berry drink. But the problem with MonaVie is that it often appears to be something of a placebo, or dummy drug'. In other words, those who expect it to work feel better because they believe it is benefiting them, rather than because it is actually benefiting them. Similarly, those who don't expect the product to work don't feel different because they are already sceptical. The benefits of MonaVie, therefore, might be more in the mind than anything else.
But this is not to say that the product doesn't work. MonaVie never refer to the product as a drug, and don't make any claims to have developed a cure for cancer. These are claims which many MonaVie distributors have made behind the company's back, based on wild assumptions which haven't been scientifically proven. MonaVie as a company only claim to offer users a drink high in antioxidants and nutrients that your body needs on a daily basis, and it is certainly true that they do this.
So whether MonaVie works or not is really down to your expectations of the product. Many users claim to feel energised and refreshed, others claim to have relief from aches and pains including arthritis, and some claim to have experienced a considerable improvement in their skin for example. These are all results of a healthy and active lifestyle, which MonaVie can contribute to.
