Potty training a dog is one of the most important facets of house training a dog.

It is important not just for the basic hygiene and safety of your home, but it also frees your from cleaning up your house every now and again.

Potty training your dog is also essential if you want to take your dog out with you and avoid being embarrassed because your dog ends up going on someone else's garden or carpet.

It is recommended that you start potty training puppies as soon as you take them home.

First, you can be with taking your dog out daily right after he has eaten and keep him out until he has done his business.

Make sure you take him to the same places to ensure that he forms a habit that makes him take you there when he has to go to the bathroom.

If you keep repeating the same process for days, your dog will gradually get the sense of what he is supposed to do.

It is also recommended to make use of such commands as "no" and "bad boy" if your dog is trying to go to the bathroom inside the house.

If you have already started his obedience training, he will understand your commands and stop until further instructions.

This will cause him discomfort initially, but will also make him understand that he cannot go to the bathroom inside the house.

You must be consistent with taking your dog out immediately if he starts circling you or showing other signs of restlessness because this may mean that he want to relieve him.

Some dogs use the method of scratching the door when they need to go out, whether to play or go to the bathroom.

It is also advisable to give him a treat each time he tells you that he needs to go out to potty because this will encourage his behavior.

You can also use the technique of taking away his toys if he goes inside the house and only give it back to him when he goes outside.
