Why throw away those expensive batteries for your cordless drill when you can repair it and bring it back to life. When the battery no longer holds a charge we tend to just throw them out or better yet recycle them. We then have to go out and buy a replacement for it that can cost as much as a new drill.
If you could learn to repair or recondition your battery and save yourself a bunch of money surely you would choose that route. Repairing a battery is not that difficult and can be done by anyone at home, even kids can do it. It only take some inexpensive tools which you should be able to put together for around $50.00 and you would have the ability to recharge almost all the batteries at your house including your car battery.
If you discover how easy it could be, you may want to try and make some extra money on the side doing this for a fee. You would be saving others money by them bringing their batteries to you for reconditioning. To start doing this as a business you may have to spend about $100.00 to get the tools you would need. That would be a small outlay of money for the returns you could get.
Think of all the batteries that are disposed of each year, if many of these could have been reconditioned back to a usable state, we would have less hazardous materials to deal with. Having said that, think of the used batteries you could pick up for free that are going to be disposed of. You could recondition these and resell them also for a profit.
