Don't Let Jealousy Get The Better Of You

In a relationship, jealousy has always been considered to be unhealthy if it leads to non-stop fights and arguments

. Quite a significant number of marriages result in divorce and separation because of jealousy. Having a partner who is constantly jealous can be a source of great annoyance, embarrassment and frustration. Jealousy can be caused by insecurities in a relationship, further provoked by hidden communication lines and mysteries.

If you are facing this kind of problem in your relationship, then you should know that there are ways you can cope with this problem.

Step number one is to tell your partner how you feel and discuss it with him or her. Make him or her understand that there is no cause for jealousy, that he or she has nothing to be jealous about. What you have to do is make your partner see is that you're not keeping anything from them. You can show your partner letters from old friends or phone calls you received that day. What is important here is for your partner to believe that you tell them everything. You may have to do these repeatedly, but your partner will be convinced in the end.

Now if you're the one who's feeling jealous, then it's time that you discuss the problem with your partner and tell them why you feel that way. There's a great chance that your partner doesn't even know that they're the reason why you're acting that way. And it all circles back to communication. Do your best to let your partner know that you feel jealous and the reason behind it. Admitting jealousy calmly would even be better than denying it but getting worked up over nothing.

If you feel another spout of jealousy coming on, take a deep breath until you get a hold of yourself, then you can go and face the problem. You shouldn't aggravate the situation by getting angry at the same time. Try to see it from a clear perspective, remember how your partner normally acts or behave. We tend to get jealous when we feel that our partner is acting oddly, especially when we suspect that something isn't as it should be. If you try avoiding suspicion and instead focus on facts, you would soon discover other reasons such as work stress, health problems and others, all not related to you or your relationship.

If given free reign, jealousy will destroy whatever bond you have with your partner. So the both of you should address the issue as soon as it appears and work at making it disappear. If ignored, it can cause you more problems and heartaches in the future. You and your partner should act now, or lose each other completely in the process.
