the awesome temperatures you missed? That's why it's to your advantage to travel during winter; you escape the freezing cold and make all your friends back home envious. This winter, be sure to make one of these hot spots your next vacation destination.

Ambergris Caye, Belize

Average high temperature in February: 80 degrees Fahrenheit

If you seek a stress-free, tropical trip, Belize's biggest island of Ambergris Caye is an amazing place to travel to. Known for its laid-back ambience, vacationers to Ambergris Caye enjoy ocean and beaches, as well as a slow-paced, barefoot culture where the vehicle of choice is a golf cart over cobblestone streets. You can enjoy the restaurants and boutique shops of the town San Pedro. However, even as the busiest town of Ambergris Caye, San Pedro is still low-key and sleepy. Belize is home to some of the best snorkeling in the world, and Ambergris Caye is close to world-renowned snorkel sites such as Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley.

Key West, Florida

If you don't want to travel internationally, you can't travel any farther south than Key West. With a wide range of water sport opportunities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing, to name a few, you can spend your entire vacation basking in the sun. Be sure to take a couple hours to tour Ernest Hemingway's gorgeous mansion and gardens (and be on the lookout for his six-toed cats!). Also eat one of your meals at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville; Key West is the restaurant's first location. As one of the US' most eccentric cities, you won't run out of things to do in Key West!

About the time everyone in the states starts to wear long pants and shirts, Aussies are breaking out their bathing suits. You won't run out of outdoor activities in Sydney. If want to sunbathe and surf, be sure to go to well-known Bondi beach. The Rocks, Sydney's historic area, is an awesome place to visit if you want delicious food and shopping opportunities. Sitting at the foot of the Sydney Harbor Bridge, you also get amazing views of the harbor and Opera House from this part of the city. If you get your thrills from risk taking, look into climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Not for the person who experiences vertigo, the bridge climb was rated by Lonely Planet as a top ten biggest adrenaline rush.
