Dos, Taboos, And Other Peculiarities Of Student Life In College

Student life in college is a period when highschool graduates become more independent and self-reliant

. As a rule, students want to seem adult, though few of them can be really considered adult. Intellectual and academic skills are not taken into account when talking about independence. A person has to make decisions and bear responsibility for his/her actions. Sometimes people lack these features even when they have grandchildren. However, student life in college is the most appropriate period to prove yourself and others that you can do everything on your own.

Being Independent

Some people become adult in the young age. It is difficult to cope with all problems encountered in life. Parents are supposed to support your decisions in different spheres of your activity. Sometimes they do not have enough time because their job is very time-consuming. It is hurtful to mention about more serious problems, suchlike alcohol and drug addiction, that can make you and your parents estranged.

Pros and Cons of the Independent Life

As you can see, not all people can be considered adult, though they are independent enough to make decisions and bear responsibility. So, it is necessary to discuss different pros and cons of being independent in college life.

Pros:

?You can do whatever you want.

?You do not have to listen to lectures every time you do something you were not expected to have done.

?You are free to choose in accordance with your position in life, your taste, and your views. The concept of free will is included into the concept of choosing.

?You should not ask for permission, though it concerns only rules established in your family. The rules existing in society are still in effect.

Cons:

?You have to bear responsibility for your actions. Everyone understands that this feature of the independent life is the basic disadvantage.

?You cannot ask mommy or daddy to do something for you because you are an independent person and have to do everything on your own.

There are a great number of pros and cons in day-to-day life. We did not manage to recollect all of them. You should decide whether you want to grow up earlier.
