Stuttering is a condition for which there is no medical cure and more men than women tend to get affected with this. Holding your breath while speaking is a big mistake; this will only make the condition worse. Try speaking when you exhale.
Consider relaxation techniques. Try to calm yourself down before you speak in front of other people. Find a way to calm down.
Relax and speak slower. Think about your words before you start talking.
Do not try to get everything out at one time. Slow down and break things into smaller sentences if you can.
