Double awards for the C-Max
Ford introduced the C-Max in 2003; it was initially named the Focus C-Max because it was largely based on the then current Ford Focus. The C-Max is the smallest MPV in Ford's people carrier line up which consists of the S Max and Ford Galaxy in London.
The second generation C Max has been on sale in the UK since 2010, it is built on the same C1 platform as the previous model. Ford added a larger C Max with seven seats in the second generation; it's been named the Grand C Max. The new C Max comes with a choice of two engines a 1.6 litre and a 2.0 litre producing 160-180 or 200 bhp respectively.
At the recent Fleet News awards the new C Max and Grand C Max won 'New Company Car of The Year 2011' and 'Best People Carrier'. The judges of the award commented, "The new Ford C-Max and Grand C-Max stand out thanks to clever and flexible seating and sliding rear passenger doors in a highly competitive sector with a range of new entrants."
The Fleet News awards judge all models on operating costs - depreciation, fuel, servicing, maintenance and repair as well as suitability for their use as business cars. Both the C Max and Grand C Max have been on sale since November last year and have been selling well. Both models also received the maximum NCAP safety rating.
Standard kits on the models include a Thatcham Category 1 alarm, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connections.
